At Get Smart Accountants in Wolverhampton, we believe in making a difference through our professional services and commitment to giving back to the community.
That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our Charities Page, a special part of our website dedicated to the charitable causes closest to our hearts.
Paul and I have carefully selected charities that are special to us. These organisations are not just recipients of our financial contributions; they are partners with whom we share a deep commitment to positively impacting the world.
For us, supporting these charities goes beyond making donations. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting involved. Throughout the year, we actively participate in various events hosted by our chosen charities. These events raise valuable funds and allow us to connect with the communities we serve and understand more deeply the causes we support.

Compton Care
Emma was just 11 years old when her dad succumbed to cancer.
She and her two sisters were largely unaware of what was going on, never being told about the severity of their dad’s illness. His loss, therefore, came as a huge shock and left her reeling from grief. No family support or counselling was offered. As a family, they simply had to cope.
Emma strongly believes that no child should suffer loss alone and knows that Compton’s services for children and young people will significantly impact those it supports. Follow the link to learn how Compton Care supports children and young people.

When Paul’s stepdad, Steve, needed help with a life-limiting condition, it was a very different story – because Compton Care was there for the whole family. They helped Steve with pain relief, and he spent happy hours at their art therapy sessions. Paul’s mum built her support network at their craft and chat sessions for carers, and he benefited from the counselling.
Both were given all the help they needed to manage physically and emotionally, and the wider family had peace of mind that they had the best care possible.
Compton Care also helped Paul’s birth father after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Although Paul lost touch with his dad after his parents separated, it’s comforting to know he had that vital support when needed.

The British Heart Foundation
In November 2022, Paul and Emma received a call that turned their world upside down. Their friend, Andy, who they’d known for over 20 years, had suffered a massive heart attack at home, and despite the efforts of the ambulance crew, he died. Andy was just 12 days away from his 50th birthday.
All the plans were to celebrate the occasion with his friends and family. He left behind his wife and three children, whom Paul and Emma had watched grow up with their children. It was only after Andy’s death that Paul and Emma realised how common heart attacks were, especially in men of this age.
